The Gaelic Grounds Limerick, Home of the All Ireland Hurling Champions.

Limerick Team on Stage.jpeg

Sunday afternoon, August 19th 2018 full time from Croke Park,

Limerick 3-16 – Galway 2-18.

45 years of waiting, the teams of 1974, 1980, 1994, 1996 and 2007 not to be forgotten, but the heroes of 2018 will be remembered forever.

Our Captain Declan Hannon holds the trophy aloft,

As Liam McCarthy is coming home!

Go raibh míle maith agat to everyone who came out to join us on Sunday for the screening of the All Ireland Hurling Final, a spectacular symphony of hurling that none of us will forget anytime soon, and another tip of the hat towards the 40 plus thousand who joined us again on Monday evening for the All Ireland Homecoming!

Under the orchestrated brilliance of John Kiely and his hardworking backroom team the Liam McCarthy dream has become a reality.

Seasoned pros like Nickie Quaid, Richie McCarthy, Séamus Hickey and Shane Dowling automatically spring to mind and together with the collective youth of Aaron Gillane, Kyle Hayes, Seamus Flanagan and Tom Morrissey to name just a few, we’ve started to think that the future is looking ever greener.

And who knows, perhaps it could be time for Liam to settle down in the Gaelic Grounds?

Special thanks to all of the hard working team in Limerick GAA, Limerick County Council, those here in the Gaelic Grounds and to every single person who helped out over an unforgettable few days,

The party is just getting started!
